What is Hypnosis and how does it work? In order to really understand the phenomenon of hypnosis it is important to first dispel a few of the myths.

1. It’s not sleep because you’ll most likely be awake and alert the entire time – though it’s common for your attention to drift periodically during a session.

2. It’s not mind control – you will not do something you do not want to do. Neither the hypnotherapist, nor the hypnosis can force you to make decisions you do not wish to make.

Hypnosis is a powerful tool that can assist you in strengthening decisions you’ve already made for yourself that you wish to reinforce. When you utilize it properly, you can gain significant leverage over unhealthy, unproductive, or unwanted habits. (Especially the ones you often do without thinking – only to catch yourself after the fact).

With Hypnosis the client can gain access to the resources they already have because People have all the resources they need they just don’t have access to them.

What does Hypnosis FEEL like?

Think of a time when you tried to get the attention of a person in the middle of a good movie or while they were checking their email on the computer. They are very much unaware of other things going on around them. Hypnosis feels very similar to the state of being "zoned out" in front of the TV or computer.

A state of Hypnosis occurs naturally several times a day for everyone. It happens easily through natural relaxation, and focus of attention, as well as repetitive motion. Your focus is either internal or external. You are aware and alert, and if you need to get up or interrupt yourself you can, but you are focused intently on what you are doing.

The more you allow yourself to relax and focus your attention on the suggestions given (just like when you are following the plot line of a movie), the more receptive you will be to that suggestion – and the more likely you are to agree with and act on that suggestion. (Such as, when something happens suddenly and causes you to jump.) Any suggestion you don’t agree with will simply be rejected. (Such as if the character’s values do not match yours.) You can always reject any suggestion given to you that you do not wish to reinforce and accept any desired suggestion.

Like anything else, the more you practice going into hypnosis, the easier it becomes. (Video gamers go into trance at the very thought of playing) Before long, you’ll get very good at going into hypnosis whenever you want – whether it’s in a session with your hypnotherapist, or at home using self-hypnosis that you will learn at True Transformations.

Live customized sessions with a qualified hypnotherapist are always best because;

1.It allows your hypnotherapist to tailor the program specifically to your special & unique needs so you can get the most from your experience.

2.Suggestions are given to you in a way that accurately reflects the way you perceive the issue, and follow your unique decision-making process, will make the hypnosis program more effective.

3.Private sessions are completely focused on your particular situation.

As a result, they are more engaging, more personalized, more fun, and ultimately more effective.

Why Hypnosis Works

With the amount of information available today, the inability to take positive action is rarely a result of not knowing what to do. In fact, when it comes to any form of Self-Improvement, most people know exactly what to do. The problem is taking action & doing it consistently. Anyone can bend their will for a short period of time if it’s important enough. However, this process is often uncomfortable, even painful, and very difficult to maintain – especially if something doesn’t change at a deeper level of the mind. Keep in mind that every behavior has a positive intention. Reading self-help books are good, but will never provide a lasting change unless the material actually causes you to shift your beliefs and attitudes about the behavior permanently. One must also satisfy the actual desired outcome.

Attempts at working on your own usually only work on the level of the conscious mind (what we are aware of), and require constant attention. Any change on this level won’t feel natural and is likely to be forgotten soon after something else grabs your attention. Hypnosis works with the unconscious mind (where resources are stored) to achieve lasting change).

Hypnosis:

  • Goes right to the heart of the matter. It deals directly with habits and the underlying beliefs, attitudes, desires, and behaviors behind them.

  • It Is you developing a rapport with yourself.

  • It is your conscious and subconscious mind working together as a powerful team!

Taught at Major Universities

Hypnosis has been taught at major Universities such as Harvard Medical School and Yale. The U.S. Military, professional athletes (including The U.S. Olympic Team), performers, and executives also use hypnosis regularly for performance enhancement, focus, relaxation, concentration, and self-improvement.

Hypnosis has also been recognized and approved by the British Medical Association, Psychiatric Association and the American Medical Association as a viable therapeutic tool.
